Windows Speech Recognition WSR
Windows (7/8/10/11) has a powerful built-in speech recognition that allows voice commands instead of the traditional mouse and keyboard. This feature requires a bit of preliminary set-up: open the control panel and click on Ease of Access, then start the Microphone Wizard and the Windows Speech Recognition tutorial.
I have opted for the manual start, which enables WSR with the hotkey CTRLWIN. Then, I can open any of my desktop applications by saying in front of the microphone: open, and the name of the application.
